Hi Pam, great questions!
Two complimentary follow-up treatments, if needed, are provided at 6 month intervals. We use a passive Q-Switch Nd: YAG laser at 1064nm. The unique pulse characteristics of our passive Q-Switch system allows for both a photo-mechanical benefit (which shatters/breaks-up the fungal colonies) as well as a photo-thermal benefit (which is excellent at heating up the fungi and killing the infection). After the review of hundreds of case studies, the FDA granted approval to our choice of laser system for the treatment of a fungal nail infection - making it the second laser system on the marketplace to achieve such approval.
Thank you again and we let us know if you have any additional questions! Robert
