About Cloverleaf Tavern

The Cloverleaf Tavern is the oldest watering hole in Caldwell, New Jersey. As such, it's probably served more beer than just about any other place in the area. George Dorchak, Jr. founded the bar in 1933, and bartenders have poured more than a million beers since that time.

The Cloverleaf has reached other landmarks, too. It's won awards for its burgers, such as the Bacon Fusion, which features a patty that combines equal parts ground beef and ground bacon. It also underwent a major renovation in 1989 to install a sunlit atrium and a breezy back patio, one that's so cozy that diners frequently catch clouds hugging as they pass overhead. But throughout all these milestones, one thing remains constant: the Dorchaks. The family has maintained its ownership over the years, with George's grandson Ryan overseeing the restaurant today.
