This winery is great! The staff at the wine bar is very friendly. Each wine is explained, complete with tasting notes. Each of the red wines was accompanied by a different tasting of chocolate. After our tasting we enjoyed a wonderful performance by a local musician. All in all, it was a lovely afternoon!

To make unfine wine, simply place grapes beneath a silk pillow, repeatedly mash your head against it, and then wring the pillowcase into a nearby mouth. Taste traditionally produced fine wines with today’s Groupon: for $30, you get a wine tasting for two, including a cheese platter, a full glass of wine and a logo glass apiece at Clovis Point Wines (a $67 value) in the pastoral setting of Jamesport.

Clovis Point is a small boutique winery dedicated to producing local Long Island award-winning wines from more than 15 acres of merlot, cabernet franc, and chardonnay vines. Inside Clovis Point's tasting room—a renovated 1920s potato barn—guests get to sip six single-ounce select varieties of Clovis Point's grape bloods, intentionally bamboozling the palate in between with nibbles from a complimentary cheese plate. After, tasters will be treated to one full glass of their favorite wine, which makes for a lovely foreground as they admire the tasting barn's mahogany doors, bluestone floors, and breathable oxygen atmosphere.

Unlike tequila shots and shotgunned root-beer floats, wine is a slow sip, making it a more enjoyable libation. Keep yourself and a loved one healthy hearted and purple lipped with an antioxidant-rich varietal tippled on the vineyard’s covered and heated back patio, and bring the sipping home with your very own complimentary logo-clad glass.

About Clovis Point Vineyard & Winery


When the founders of Clovis Point Vineyard & Winery first laid eyes on the 10-acre plot of North Fork farmland, they knew they had found the perfect spot to transform their vision of a boutique winery into a reality. The plot hit everything on their checklist—sun-swept fields, accessibility, and a picturesque 1920s potato barn that would later be transformed into a tasting room complete with mahogany doors, bluestone floors, and a heated patio overlooking the vineyards. The barn isn't Clovis Point Vineyard & Winery's only nod to the past. According to the New York Times, which lauds the winery as “emblematic of the versatility of some East End boutiques,” the name stems from stone spear tips believed to originate from the Clovis people, a tribe of Indians who inhabited North Fork during the Paleolithic Age.

Today, the winery has grown to span 15 acres of merlot, cabernet franc, and chardonnay vines, which winemaker John Leo ferments into award-winning wines.
