Choose from Four Options

  • C$73 for a 10-visit punch card with equipment rentals during each visit and an introductory lesson (a C$260 value)
  • C$129 for the above punch card for two people (a C$520 value)
  • C$75 for a one-month membership with unlimited visits, equipment rental during each visit, and an introductory lesson (a C$285 value)

During the three-hour introductory lesson, an instructor teaches novices to tie knots, put on a harness, and ascend the rock-climbing wall. Next, the instructor goes over proper belaying techniques, with a belay test administered during a follow-up visit (included with the lesson). Lessons and gym visits include rentals of shoes, harnesses, and belay equipment.

Coastal Climbing Centre

With some reaching up to 70 feet, Coastal Climbing Centre's more than 100 routes create a staggering sight as interweaving patterns of colourful foot and hand holds stretch from the gym's padded floors all the way up to its ceiling. Visitors needn't feel overwhelmed, however, as the gym's staff can help them climb step by step. During drop-in sessions, instructors handle all belaying, letting climbers focus on solving each problem. Alternatively, instructors teach students to belay for themselves and master more nuanced climbing techniques, including back steps and the backstroke.

Aside from the roped routes, approximately 80–100 bouldering problems challenge climbers in different ways. Devoid of harnesses and ropes, climbers must rely exclusively on a chalk bag and a firm grip. The gym's hang boards, rings, and H.I.T. Strips help build the required dexterity, and complimentary hot beverages can fuel visitors' steam-powered legs.

The staff is friendly and encouraging. The gym can get pretty busy sometimes so it's better to book a climbing time

Good crowd, nice employees, great deal if you love climbing. Can get pretty busy with their youth nights. Their regular prices are probably the lowest among the climbing gyms so worth checking out for sure.
