About Coco Asian Bistro and Bar
Coco Asian Bistro and Bar offers South Florida Asian fusion cuisine in an upscale environment. And owner and executive chef Mike Ponluang's lifetime of traveling and the techniques he learned along the way shows in his cuisine.
He grew up with his family's restaurant out of his home in Thailand, and later studied restaurant and hotel administration in Bangkok where he also worked as a cook and food checker. From there, Ponluang moved to England and opened his first restaurant in 1979 in London. In 1980, he moved to Florida, where he worked at a Hawaiian restaurant, opened and eventually sold Thai Express, and started Thai Pepper, which he owned for 15 years. And, in 2006, he opened Coco Asian Bistro and Bar
Coco Asian Bistro and Bar features tastes from all over Asia. Diners can enjoy specialty dishes like lobster pad thai, braised lamb shanks, and beef short ribs served with garlic curry rice and roti (an Asian pancake), as well as sushi rolls. He also offers traditional dishes like green curry, crispy duck, and samosas.
