Q:

The " fine print" states that the offer expires with 120 days, does this mean we have to visit Colburn within that time frame to activate our groupon , so that we can use the membership at other museums?

Melissa M.  asked on  Feb 19, 2013

A:

You do not have to visit the museum. You will need to activate your membership (which is good for one year from the date of activation.) You may activate your membership via email at colburngroupon@gmail.com Be sure to include the Groupon purchase number with your email activation.

Q:

How fast do we get the membership card? I'm planning a trip to Discovery place this weekend in Charlotte and would like to use the reduced admission available with membership.

Danny Y.  asked on  Feb 19, 2013

A:

If you are able to come by the Colburn, we can give you temporary cards immediately which you can use until we mail your permanent cards. If you are unable to come by the museum, I can send an email to you which you can take to Discovery Place to confirm your membership. I will also give Discovery Place a call and alert our weekend staff so that they can verify your membership if necessary.

Q:

can we use this annual pass for the Catawba Science Center, Discovery Place, and any other in NC? Where can we find a listing?

Sharon G.  asked on  Feb 19, 2013

A:

Colburn Museum is a member of the Association of Science-Technology Centers and has reciprocity with over 280 museums. The full listing arranged by state and country is available at www.astc.org through the Passport Program. Catawba Science Center and Discovery Place are both members of ASTC and would have some sort of reduced or free admission per that program. Specific details would be available on the website of the particular museum. Hope this helps!
