Creativity can strike at any moment, whether you're near a canvas and brushes or beside a slumbering strongman and many rolls of toilet paper. Learn to recognize opportune moments with today's Groupon: for $34, you get a workshop in an art or design discipline of your choice at the College for Creative Studies (a $69 value). Workshops are housed at one of the college's two campuses: either the Ford Campus in Detroit’s Cultural Center or the Taubman Center in the New Center area.
The College for Creative Studies proffers a procession of skill-nurturing workshops in the visual arts. Students of all ability levels, age 16 and older, are instructed by industry professionals as cultured in their craft as a well-traveled pearl. The Digital Pen and Tablet tutorial uses Wacom tablets in conjunction with Photoshop to produce finely controlled illustrations in a digital medium. Explore unusual photography forms in the Shooting with Phones and Plastic Cameras Photography course (additional $30 material fee required) or escape behind an easel during one of the four-week self-directed Drawing Clinics, featuring live models and a coincidentally live instructor.
Drawing Clinics require participants under the age of 18 to submit a Life Drawing permission form signed by a parent or guardian.
