Hockey players are like children: they are often missing teeth, are placed in a timeout box when they get into a fight, and their ankles can be rubbed for good luck. Give yourself the luck of a child with today's Groupon to see the Colorado Avalanche take on the Edmonton Oilers on February 23 at 7:30 p.m. The game will take place at the Pepsi Center on Chopper Circle, and each ticket includes an extra-large "It's All About the A" T-shirt (an $18 value). Choose between two seating options:

  • $29 for one upper-level seat ticket (up to a $66 value)

The Avalanche return their brigade of deft maneuvers and burly bruisers to the rowdy Pepsi Center homestead. Led by explosive pucksters Chris Stewart and Paul Stastny as well as recently signed veteran Peter Forsberg, the Avs' high-octane offense is poised to push past Oilers with an onslaught of dead-eye snap shots, deadly body checks, and dead-on Brian Dennehy impressions. The Avs' dedicated fan base has seen their ice warriors evolve into perennial playoff contenders and twice hoist the championship Stanley Cup. To foster arena camaraderie and warm up painted torsos, each purchase comes with an extra-large "It’s All About the A" T-shirt.

About Colorado Avalanche

Even though they haven't always played under the same name, or even in the same city, the Avalanche franchise has consistently enjoyed success on the ice. It was 1972 when the Quebec Nordiques joined the now defunct World Hockey Association, which eventually merged with the NHL prior to the 1979-80 season. The Nordiques played a total of 16 seasons in the NHL before moving to Denver, where they became the Avalanche and immediately won the Stanley Cup—the first NHL team ever to do so in their first season after relocation. In 2001, the Avs struck again in dominating fashion, collecting 118 points, reclaiming the sports world's best trophy. In total, the franchise has made 21 playoff appearances, highlighted by a string of 11 straight from 1994–2005.
