In order to be successful, stand-up comedians must be funny, creative, and related to Tony Danza. Appreciate the talents of direct descendants of the Brooklyn Brawler with today’s Groupon: two tickets to Comedy Caravan, located in the Mid City Mall on Bardstown Road. The tickets can be used for two people to attend one show, or for one person to attend two different shows. Shows are for ages 18 and above. This Groupon expires 90 days from today's date.
Choose from the following ticket options:
$12 for two tickets to any show on a Friday (7:15 p.m., 9:30 p.m., or 11:45 p.m.) or Saturday (7:15 p.m., 9:30 p.m., or 11:45 p.m.), up to a $30 value, depending on the show.
$8 for two tickets to any show on a Wednesday (7:15 p.m.), Thursday (7:15 p.m. or 9:30 p.m.), or Sunday (7:15 p.m. or 9:30 p.m.), up to a $20 value, depending on the show.
The Comedy Caravan is a mirth-inducing venue whose walls have spied on a legion of talented stand-up comedians. Guests can choose to drop in on the one-night appearance of The Indicators, a group of Louisville natives who specialize in short-form improv, or watch as Monique Marvez of the San Diego morning show "Monique and the Man," riffs on gender differences in her racy act. For a bit of Southern comfort, patrons can relieve their comic desires by listening to J. Scott Homan rile up the audience with a frenzied style that has won him spots on Showtime and The Bob & Tom Show. Though not included in today's Groupon, Comedy Caravan offers hot dogs, ice cream, and drinks for purchase as well as fresh popcorn (complimentary for the first basket, $1 for refills).
As a member of the Louisville Independent Business Alliance, Comedy Caravan is part of the movement to keep Louisville weird by promoting locally owned businesses and educating citizens on the value of shopping locally. Prices vary from show to show; check out the calendar for schedules and give your laughing muscles a workout that will leave them smile-sweating.
Every Wednesday–Sunday, Comedy Caravan packs its showroom with popular headliners and tomorrow's sitcom stars. In an intimate setting where even the back rows sport good sightlines and sound, audiences chortle to the picks of Comedy Caravan's esteemed talent scouts, who booked bigwigs such as Jamie Foxx and Tim Allen before they rose to fame. Although the venue houses a full bar, Comedy Caravan doesn't implement cumbersome policies such as two-drink minimums or mandatory hair donation. Pizza slices, hot dogs, and ice cream are also available, and the standard 18+ age limit drops to 16+ for Sunday shows.
