What sets your business apart from your competition?
We are the only local company that sells and stocks on site a wide variety of commercial grade quality foam for many different applications. We custom cut the foam on site to fit cushions, mattresses, day beds, window seats, etc. We will work with the client to make sure the foam quality is what they require, the firmness is what they like, and offer additional service to have a cover made for the foam as well. We are a one stop shop.
What was the inspiration for starting this business?
The original owner started the business when her uncle, who had a fabrication foam business in Ontario realized there was no local supplier to upholstery shops. She was living out west and wanted to move back home to Nova Scotia. She started the business in 1993 with the thought of supplying upholstery shops with foam, polyester, and upholstery supplies. Eventually people found out about us and were calling and stopping by and wanting to buy foam direct from us as there were no local suppliers.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
Our customers love us. We go above and beyond and have incredible repeat business. We had a client who was deaf and came into the store. Our sales girl was very kind and was able to figure out exactly what she wanted and she left happy. We received a letter from the better business bureau telling us that this woman was above happy with the service we provided to her that day and that the BBB explained to us that they seldom receive positive feedback on businesses. We will do almost anything to make sure the customer leaves happy and satisfied with their purchase.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
I am the new owner of the company. I love helping people sort through their issues and problems and find a product that will help make their lives easier and better.
