Commonwealth Ballet brings a Hans Christian Andersen classic to life, introducing grade school audiences to the poignant tale of The Nightingale. The 19th century fable follows a young emperor who becomes consumed by his love for the beautiful song of a nightingale. His devotion wavers when he's distracted by the appearance of a new mechanical bird. But when the artificial trinket breaks and the real thing returns, little theatergoers will witness the power and importance of true friendship. Featuring original choreography by Chip Morris and accompanied by live music, The Nightingale will touch the hearts of the young and old alike when it comes to Weston's Regis College Fine Arts Center.
Running time is one hour and 30 minutes, including intermission.
This performance is recommended for children ages 4 and older.
