This past July, New Horizons made history, becoming the first spacecraft to fly by Pluto. Actually, it was able to give us close-up views of the double planet Pluto-Charon for the first time. Now, Bay Area astronomer Andrew Fraknoi, Chair of the Astronomy Department at Foothill College, sheds some light on what we now know about these icy worlds at the outskirts of our solar system. He’ll also share some interesting facts about Pluto, namely how the dwarf planet got demoted and why its story might still turn out OK.
