In Sanjay's Super Team, the new short film from Pixar Animation Studios, accomplished artist Sanjay Patel uses his own experiences to tell the story of a young, first-generation Indian boy whose love for Western pop culture comes into conflict with his family's traditions. The director and animator comes to the Music Recital Hall at Santa Clara University to discuss his project, which melds age-old Hindu traditions with modern-day superhero imagery. Patel's Annie Award-nominated short accompanied the theatrical release of Pixar's The Good Dinosaur and he's animated such hit films as Monsters University, The Incredibles and A Bug's Life. He's also the author and illustrator of the colorful and intricately-drawn children's books Ganesha's Sweet Tooth and The Little Book of Hindu Deities. Hear Patel talk inspiration, culture and family at this Good Lit event.
There will be a book-signing session immediately after the event.
