Q:

When I sign up for membership, I can use the facilities for Windsurfing & Kayaking Lessons as well as the equipments? Are there additional rental fees to use the windsurf or kayaks within the 30 day membership?

Afriany S.  asked on  Sep 4, 2012

A:

The 30 day membership includes use of our fleet of single and double sit-on-top kayaks, however we don't offer any formal lessons in kayaking. The 30 day membership does not include access to windsurfing or out windsurf fleet, however you can upgrade your membership to get access to windsurfers.

Q:

Do you recommend buying boating shoes prior to the orientation? If that's something I'd rather hold off until I'm sure this is a hobby I want to keep pursuing, is there any interim footwear you'd suggest during the beginner classes?

Manuel S.  asked on  Sep 4, 2012

A:

Community Boating requests that its members wear closed-toe footwear on the dock and in the boats. Boat shoes are not required. In fact, most members just wear sneakers. We look forward to seeing you at our orientation soon.
