THanks for writing. Children of 12 yrs and up can usually handle a single with a parent present.

Q:

The question was already asked, but the answer wasn't clear. If you substitute the $12 2-person kayaks for 2-1person kayaks is there any additional charge for the half day?

Adrianne W.  asked on  Jun 18, 2012

A:

Sorry that this wasn't clear. Both of our groupon deals are for up to 4 hours in a single outing. If you purchase the one tandem (kayak for 2 people) deal but desire to take out a single kayak for each of you, we can make that swap for the 4-hour outing and there's no additional charge. I don't know how interactive this site is, but please let us know if that helped or muddied the water for you.

Q:

I already purchased a 2, two person kayak on Sunday because the one, 2 person kayak was no longer available. It is back up, can I change it for the one, two person kayak?

cristina d.  asked on  Jun 19, 2012

A:

Thanks for writing Cristina. Indeed, due to popular demand, Groupon has extended both deals. I will be glad to do an exchange for you. You may see further information posted here by Groupon as to whether they can perform an exchange. In either case, we'll make it work for you.

Darla M.  from  Merchant  replied on  Jun 19, 2012

A:

Cristina, Groupon staff tells me that you may select an exchange of the two tandem deal for the one tandem deal by visiting the "My Refund" page at Groupon, and then make your new selection for the deal that you want. If this doesn't work for you, let us know.

More Questions and Answers

Q:

After finishing, do they pick up and bring back to car?

Pam H.  asked on  Jun 19, 2012

A:

Thanks for writing Pam. At the Waller Creek Boathouse, no shuttle is necessary. We launch your kayak and after your group explores Lady Bird Lake as far east (downstream) or as far west (upstream) as you'd like, you finish your paddle back at the boathouse. In kayak-speak, you put-in and take-out at the same location.

Q:

Hi just wondering does kayak flip over at any time? Magpie

Maggie W.  asked on  Jun 17, 2012

A:

Hi Maggie: Our sit-on-top kayaks are very stable and are designed to be upright which makes it easy to paddle for the new kayaker. When we help guests launch, we give you several tips on staying upright and making sure you feel comfortable in the boat before you leave the dock. Good question!

Q:

Where can you park?

Edward G.  asked on  Jun 17, 2012

A:

On-street parking suggestions are Cesar Chavez/1st St. and cross streets of Brazos, Trinity and San Jacinto areas - these are metered spaces but free on Sundays and until 11 Saturday morning. Open spaces can be found in the Rainey St. area close to the lake. For covered parking (fee), the city's Convention Center Garage at Cesar Chavez typically has spaces available. Our web site (www.congresskayaks.com) will be updated with more parking information as it becomes available. Thanks for writing.
