The call of the wild is like a call from an elderly grandparent: though you can’t quite make out what’s being said, you feel better about yourself when you answer. Pick up nature’s phone with today’s Groupon: for $55, you get a yearlong membership to Conservators’ Center in Burlington (a $120 value). Each membership includes the following:

  • Unlimited public tours
  • Discounts on specialty tours and select events
  • 4” x 6” photograph of one of the center’s lions
  • A Member of the Pride keychain<p>

Seasoned tour guides at the nonprofit Conservators’ Center acquaint guests with 19 species of rare, rescued, and endangered animals during tours, educational programs, and special events. During unlimited two-hour public tours, members can traipse across outdoor paths and roads to admire lions, tigers, wolves, and lemurs as guides list each animal’s backstory and role in the ecosystem. Guides may also carry scents to coax out timorous creatures so that guests can garner close-up views of the animals eating, playing, or arguing the merits of Austrian economics in their natural habitats. In addition to interactive tours, each member receives discounts on special events, a photograph of one of the resident lions, and a Member of the Pride keychain. A membership also helps support the center’s commitment to rescuing animals in need, breeding animals responsibly, and stressing the importance of conservation through community education and demonstrations of animals turning off faucets while brushing their teeth.

Conservators Center

The seasoned tour guides at the Conservators Center, a nonprofit censervancy in Burlington, North Carolina, have had their fair share of animal adventures. It is these that help them provide guests with once-in-a-lifetime experiences with 20 different species of exotic wildlife, including more than 20 lions, tigers, and leopards.

Guided Tours allow guests to reconnect with wildlife by showing them up close and personal, and bring customers unique experiences, such as eye-to-eye experiences with tigers, and an "oofing", the Center's description for the earth-shaking lion's roar when they call to one another. On every tour, guides will "oof" to the lions, who often respond. Visitors will also get to observe wolves romping through the woods, and the discovery of lesser-known species such as servals and binturongs.
