Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Does the Groupon price include delivery?

Jane D.  asked on  Jun 18, 2013

A:

This Groupon includes delivery if your are having the cookies delivered in the downtown core. The usual price for a dozen cookies delivered downtown is $19.00. If you require delivery outside of downtown, extra charges do apply, and your Groupon credit value of $20 will be applied to your order. Here are the delivery charges for most areas: $ 5 Downtown Vancouver $ 9 Vancouver $ 12 North Vancouver, UBC $ 14 Burnaby, Richmond, West Vancouver $ 16 New Westminster $ 21 Delta & Surrey Other areas - please inquire We designed this Groupon offer as way to keep providing our wonderful cookies to our downtown fans where we were located for 29 years before our landlord decided to redevelop our building, breaking our lease and informing us that they no longer wanted small independent businesses, only large corporate chains. Then we thought that some people might want cookies delivered elsewhere, so we included an extra dollar inn the deal to put towards delivery fees to other places in the Vancouver area. While we would love to offer free delivery everywhere, we still have to pay our courier and we would go broke if we offered delivery everywhere! Alan the Head Cookie

Q:

Is it possible to find out what the cookie du jour is prior to ordering online?

Clara W.  asked on  Jun 23, 2013

A:

Some things in life should be a surprise. So two out of your thirteen cookies will be a mystery until you upon the box, to badly paraphrase Forrest Gump. Having said that, if you have an allergy or are really disgusted by some certain flavour, you can send me an email and we will do our best to accommodate you. My wife hates coffee, and won't go near my mocha cappuccino or kona cookies, but then she isn't going to eat a whole box anyway. There's lots of flavours to share!

Q:

Hi Alan - I would love to take advantage of this offer and pick the cookies up to save on the $9 delivery fee. You mention pick up can be arranged early morning or late afternoon. How early is early and how late is late? And how do I book a time to do the pick up? Thanks, Samantha!

Samantha H.  asked on  Jun 21, 2013

A:

Because we don't have a retail store anymore (thank you, Harbour Centre landlord!) my new location for mixing and baking my cookies is in a shared facility with a bunch of other really cool food makers. Vegan pate, organic juices. gluten free pasta, hand made popsicles, fabulous pies and infused honeys and more are all being made here. We're all in and out depending on orders and there is a great cooperative vibe. Chances are someone will be there and I can ask if they will direct you to the cookies if we are not there. But, I have to ask first, can't just presume. If you contact me a day or two ahead, I can have a better idea of who will be there. Your voucher is worth $20, so you can get a dozen for $14.00 and then if you want you can get the next dozen for only $10.00 (Groupon promo price) it would be just another $4.00.

Q:

What if I want it to be delivered to another person as a gift would that be allowed?

Sarah P.  asked on  Jun 21, 2013

A:

Absolutely! Almost a a third of our orders are gifts, and there is a box on our order form for you to write a message to the lucky recipient as well. We write your message on our boxes for free, or for three dollars we will write it on a card with an envelope if you prefer. Cookie boxes on the mantlepiece look a bit odd, after all.

Q:

Is Gastown/Railtown included in downtown?

Ruby S.  asked on  Jun 20, 2013

A:

Tricky question, because Gastown is downtown but Railtown not really. West of Main Street is downtown according to our courier.

Q:

I live in Yaletown. If I sign up for this deal, I too am interested in picking up, but I need to know if you are close enough to make it worth my while. Where is your location? If I do choose to take advantage of delivery in Downtown Vancouver, can they be delivered by 9:30 in the morning?

Deborah C.  asked on  Jun 19, 2013

A:

Pick up can be arranged early in the morning or late in the afternoon bu appointment, we are located at 401 Industrial Avenue. Delivery can be arranged for 9:30, but rush courier rates would apply, adding another $6.00 to your order. If you are friendly with a business in your neighbourhood, we could also drop them off there for you.

Q:

what is the delivery charge to Port Coquitlam?

Manpreet  asked on  Jun 19, 2013

A:

18 Dollars. So if you order a dozen the usual cost will be $32.00, and with your Groupon you would deduct the value of $20 and pay an additional $12. Frankly, this deal makes sense for you out there in Eastern Canada : ) only if you were to order more cookies at the special Groupon price of $10 per dozen and share the cost with some friends!

Q:

If I order delivery to Yaletown appartment ( Nelson/Cambie Str), how much would the delivery cost be? Same as Downtown? $5? Thanks

Snjezana T.  asked on  Jun 18, 2013

A:

Yes, our couriers consider Yaletown part of downtown, so delivery is still just $5.00. Just make sure there is a way to access your apartment, as we have found security makes it hard to deliver sometimes. Your Groupon will get you a dozen cookies delivered to you with no extra charge. (Unless you want to take advantage of the $10 per dozen bonus offer)

Q:

Two Questions: 1) would i be able to use this groupon tomorrow? 2) do we have to have the delivery of the cookies or can we opt to pick up the cookies at the royal centre location and use the $20 towards that?

Shannon W.  asked on  Jun 18, 2013

A:

Hi Shannon, yes there is still time for tomorrow if you order before 5pm. We aren't in Royal Centre, you are thinking of another, corporate chain store. We are for now just a delivery business after being renovicted by our landlord after 29 years in the same location. See other answers here about pick up. Cheers, Alan the Head Cookie

Q:

I love your cookies. Do you have a retail location elsewhere? Is pickup available?

Katie W.  asked on  Jun 18, 2013

A:

Hi Katie, thanks for the love! I really appreciate it since we are homeless as far as being a retail store goes. I MISS MY CUSTOMERS! Searching for that perfect spot, but hard to find in this city, the Big Guys,(McTimbucks) have cornered the market on good spots. See my comments about pick up elsewhere here. Cheers, Alan the Head Cookie

Q:

Is there a pick-up option instead of having the cookies delivered? I would love to save on delivery fee :)

richard  asked on  Jun 18, 2013

A:

Hi Richard, pick up can be arranged but by appointment only. We are usually here baking the day's orders in the morning. I will bake an extra four cookies for you for picking up as well.
