There are many “cooler” breweries than this one in Cool Springs. It’s basically a sports bar pretending to be a brewery. We tried a flight tasting and none of the beers were good except the well known brands. The food is okay for bar food and the service is on the slow side. Overall it was very average and we’ll be checking out other places.

About Cool Springs Brewery

When British ex-pats Chris and Jane first bought Cool Springs Brewery, it wasn't a microbrewery, but a pizza place. Operating under the name Guido's New York Pizzas, the restaurant was famous for its thin-crust New York-style dough, and Chris and Jane certainly didn't want to mess with a good thing. So, instead of taking away from the restaurant, they added something that goes well with pizza: beer. With the addition, they changed the eatery's name to Cool Springs Brewery, a place where guests could come for a slice of pizza, microbrewed craft beer, wings (recognized by Eatery in October 2017), or the "Best Fish and Chips in Nashville", according to Nashville Scene. Here's a look at some of their year-round flavors.

  • Pecker Wrecker: An IPA, this brew is excellently balanced with hops, mango, pine and white grapefruit, and sweet malt flavors. It finishes strong with a nice, piney flavor. 6.2% ABV.
  • Titches Wit: This Belgian wit bursts with citrus and orange upon first sip, but also includes some subtler flavors of banana and juicy fruit. Hints of clove and vanilla liven it up before it finishes with a citrusy tartness. 5.5% ABV.
  • Fatback: Bready and slightly sweet, this altbier is very well-balanced, including flavors of caramel, honey, nuts, and spices. The beer is hearty but has a light touch. 5.3% ABV.
  • Nice Rack IPA: Mango explodes on the tongue, in order to give space to citrus in the West coast style IPA. Adds a swirl of mango, pine, and grapefruit.
  • Franklin's 1st: A grain and bread flavor with some mild sweetness. There is also a fair amount of floral and earthy hops with a bit of grass and a moderate bitterness.
