Great tour overall! Staff was especially nice and welcoming! We came during mating season, so we didn’t get to see any gators but that isn’t the fault of the business. Restaurant was very hospitable and food was great! Will try again when we can expect to see gators.

This experience was so much more than I thought it would be. You get a little lecture about the wildlife before the airboat tour and I found it just as fascinating as the air boat tour. We saw a gator at the very end. So cool. So glad we got in this experience this afternoon. And the photo with a gator at the end was a very nice touch.

About Coopertown Airboat Tours

The Original Airboat Tour of the Everglades National Park, Coopertown Airboat Tours & Restaurant was established in 1945 by our founding father John Cooper. With over 75 years of experience traveling deep into the wetlands of the National Park, come and experience the River of Grass and the ecosystem our gators call home.

The airboats that depart from Coopertown head deep into the wetlands, where sawgrass covers the water and gators are plentiful. Guides point out a wide variety of wildlife, ranging from herons and turtles to endangered species such as the snail kite. For a more intimate encounter with nature, they also run private tours, voyaging into areas that are only accessible by smaller airboats. Tours typically culminate by the Coopertown restaurant and gift shop. There, guests can snack on the frog legs that started it all, or sample other swampland delights including gator-tail nuggets and catfish.
