Q:

Hi, for the flight for 2 option, will we fly side by side the whole time? or would we just be flying at the same time but seaparate in the air? I want to purchase this a my bfs birthday gift and would love to fly too, but im sure he would love to be able to separate at some point and do his own thing. please advise on which option should i buy. the flight for 2 or a separate flight option for each. Also do I add the extended option here or is that done when you arrive onsite? thanks

Jennifer S.  asked on  Dec 13, 2012

A:

Hi Jennifer, The options are to purchase 1x flight ticket, or 2x flight tickets at the same time. If you purchase 2x flight tickets, you get an additional $10 off, so it's $240 instead of 2x 125 = $250. Once you have 2x tickets, you have the option to purchase the Flight-of-Two flight option, which means that both helicopters will fly together for a time, allowing you to take photo's of each other in the air! Afterwards the 2 helicopters will separate and the instructors will hand over the controls to each student. This gives both of you a chance to fly the helicopter! You can purchase the additional options when you come onsite to fly or if you are gifting this to someone we can take your payment over the phone so that your special person will be all set with all the trimmings! Please give us a call at 917-409-7404 if you need any additional details.

Q:

we bought this as a gift and didn't realize it said 18 or older. the person is 16. will that be a problem? if so how do we fix this?

Jennifer C.  asked on  Dec 14, 2012

A:

Hi Jennifer, This is actually our (& Groupon's) mistake! The age limit is 12 and older, NOT 18+. You are all set! We're working with Groupon to update the fine-print on this. Thank you for pointing it out!

Q:

I'm quite interested in buying the dual option for my parents for a Christmas present, but of course I would prefer to keep the gift a secret until later this month. If I buy the tandem option does it matter if I'm not one of the people actually undergoing the flight lesson? Thanks.

James G.  asked on  Dec 11, 2012

A:

Hi James, No it doesn't matter if you are not one of the people undergoing the flight lesson. Once you purchase the tickets on Groupon, you'll register using our online scheduler on our website where you'll enter the names of the people that will be using the vouchers. The vouchers are not tied to specific names or persons. So your Christmas present will absolutely be a secret, until your parents actually schedule to come to fly!

Q:

hi there, can we fly over NYC? thanks

Zhanik P.  asked on  Dec 11, 2012

A:

Hi Zhanik, We don't usually fly directly over Manhattan on the introductory flights. This is because we actually hand you the controls of the helicopter. You will however get a beautiful skyline view of the city from the helicopter, provided there is no clouds in the way! The narrow flight corridor over the Hudson river is usually busy with lots of aircraft and has tight restrictions from Air Traffic Control. It would be like learning to drive a car for the first time in the middle of mid-town Manhattan traffic. Not that, that hasn’t been done before... Once you begin your training as a helicopter pilot, you'll be able to fly into Manhattan easily as we're only about 5-10 minutes away via Helicopter.

Q:

Hi, My name is David I want to buy one class as a gift. I want to know if is possible to go with the person who is taking the class as a passenger, while she is flying the helicopter.

David A.  asked on  Dec 10, 2012

A:

Hi David, the helicopters your lucky friend will be flying is very much like an expensive race-car, it has only 2 seats. Your friend will be sitting in the cockpit, flying the helicopter with a flight instructor sitting next to him/her. We do have an option for 2 people to go flying together in separate helicopters where you have the option to have the helicopters fly right next to each other so that you can take pictures of each other flying the helicopters in the air! Your also welcome to attend the ground class together provided we have space available.

Q:

How long is the lesson? How long does the flight last? Thanks!

Robert A.  asked on  Dec 10, 2012

A:

Hi Robert, The whole lesson can last about an hour, there is a ~30 minute ground session where we go over the helicopter controls, instruments and other safety items and then you have 15 minutes of air-time flying the helicopter. We can extend the Flight Time for an additional 10 minutes or more for a discounted fee, which you can decide when you schedule your flight lesson!
