What You'll Get
Explorer Ponce de León abandoned his quest to discover the mythical land of wine after a tumble into the Fountain of Youth left him eternally underage. Take up his journey with today’s Groupon: for $15, you get a blind wine tasting and appetizer pairing at Cork & Olive Wine Bar & Café in Brandon (a $30 value).
The skilled sommeliers at Cork & Olive Wine Bar & Café dispense fine wines, micro beers, and olive oils from their wood-floored boutique lined with myriad shelves of adult elixirs. A series of varied vinos flow across visitors' tongues during weekend tasting sessions, served blind so the subtle characteristics of each choice are not distorted by where it was made and how many kinds of gem are super-glued to the bottle. Each wine is paired with a serving of cheese, meat, or chocolate, allowing flavors to contrast and accentuate each other. Live jazz music adds complex tones to the experience, unlocking flavors in the wine by using their bottles as part of a glass harp solo. Tastings are available from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with a 24-hour advance reservation.

About Cork & Olive Wine Bar & Café
Cork & Olive Wine Bar & Café's chief oenophiles, Hank and Doug, celebrate the store's expansive collection of wines and microbrews by adding a social tasting and snacking experience to the joy of shopping for fine imbibables. During these tastings, guests may have the opportunity to observe actual gold flakes tumble and turn amid the racing bubbles of the Peter Brum Gold Sparkler or note how the creamily textured tannins in the Cinnabar merlot transform when paired with artisanal cheeses and gourmet meats. Oak barrels await the touch of a tap to allow customers to fill their own bottles or purses with ripe, fermented delights. Every Friday and Saturday, live jazz imbues the air with as many varied and unpredictable notes as are found in the store's collection of wines.
