Few things are more American than a comfortable neighborhood diner, unless that diner was sculpted out of a giant apple pie. Sidle up to a piece of Americana with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth comfort fare at Corner Lunch Diner. Check out the restaurant’s Facebook page for more information and pictures.
Located just outside the Canal District, Corner Lunch Diner serves classic and creative American diner fare within a vintage setting. Fall into a sweet feast of blueberry pancakes paired with three pieces of bacon or sausage ($8.35), or fill empty stomach tanks with the "fuel for the day," a hearty helping of two eggs any style, two pieces of bacon or sausage, home fries or toast, and one fluffy buttermilk pancake ($6.50).
Noontime noshers can dive face-first into fish ‘n’ chips, featuring fisherman-delivered haddock freshly fried until golden and crispy, served with homemade coleslaw and tartar sauce ($4.99 for a small, $8.25 for a large). Muffins and desserts are homemade and baked fresh each morning, and weekend wanderers are encouraged to wake up by wafting the savory flavors of homemade waffles, eggs benedict slathered with homemade hollandaise sauce, and the delicate aromas flowing from Foxboro thanks to Tom Brady’s maple syrup-based mane.
The Corner Lunch Diner is a historic structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once inside the recently renovated diner, patrons can belly up to the counter or slip into classic diner booths while politely chatting with friends or hard-working hash browns dreaming of an easier life as couch potatoes. The Corner Lunch Diner is open until 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and 2 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (The Corner Lunch Diner is closed on Tuesdays).
