The four gifted string players in the Friction Quartet are redefining what modern classical music can be with performances that pair rhythmic ferocity with passionate tonal flair. Forged in the prestigious halls of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, the group is composed of Kevin Rogers and Otis Harriel, violins, Taija Warbelow, viola, and Douglas Machiz, cello. Their work has been praised by critics as "stunningly passionate" (Calgary Herald) and "chillingly effective" (San Francisco Examiner). They'll be performing at PONCHO Concert Hall as part of the Live Music Project: Seattle series.
