Americans love corn more than any other food, including Swiss cottage cheese and chocolate-covered fishing twine. For $35, today's deal gets you a 6.5-gallon tin of corn-edibles from Cornucopia (up to a $95 value). Your autumnal cornhusk decorations will appear as poor exercises in corn-creativity after experiencing the vast possibilities within each Cornucopia kernel.
Corn has been inadequately represented through culinary history with meager dousings of butter and salt. The dedication of Cornucopia’s Nikki and Nadia has elevated the kernel to heavenable possibilities. Cornucopia offers more than 40 different colorful, gourmet popcorn flavors, including cheddar, jalapeño, loaded baked potato, pesto, Madras curry, Texas chili, cinnamon toast, watermelon, green apple, cherry, s'mores, vegan options, and many more. Nikki and Nadia spend significant time in their flavor lab, constantly concocting new palate pleasers with game-changing ingredients.
Each kernel is popped fresh daily in-store and made by the hands of Nikki and Nadia's friends, which happen to be attached to the arms of Nikki and Nadia's friends. Six-and-a-half-gallon tins––perfect for the upcoming holidays––run from $40 to $95 depending on flavor (you can mix and match up to four).
You must purchase your sweet maize treats at the store on Guadalupe Street, but delivery within a specified area is always an option for a few extra bucks. Pre-orders are not necessary, but are greatly appreciated by the Cornucopia staff.
- Luckily, Dugas and Elhaj offer unlimited samples, so you always know exactly what you’re getting into before parting with your hard-earned dollars, and the ladies promise that they will always have 85 to 90 percent of their flavors on hand any day of the week. – Melanie Haupt, A.V. Club
- From peanut butter choc, to dill pickle, Cornucopia's product is a delicious and crave-satisfying snack. – Jess P., Yelp
Cornucopia Popcorn Creations
The drumroll of corn being popped or devoured constantly resounds through air scented with butter, cinnamon, caramel, and curry at Cornucopia Popcorn Creations. The crew embellishes popcorn with more than 30 unique flavors, which are divided into four basic categories: candied, chocolate, seasoned, and vegan. The list includes everything from basic butter or cheese popcorn to snacks reminiscent of Red Hots or s’mores as well as dill-pickle popcorn that the Austin Chronicle called “amazing.” Like the spark plugs of your rival’s car, the creative munchies can be packed into decorative bags and tins to make an ideal gift.
In February 2014, Cornucopia Popcorn Creations moved from The Drag to new Hyde Park digs, where visitors can take advantage of ample parking as they drop in to sample ever-changing seasonal flavors.
