What You'll Get
Despite baseball's unofficial theme song, peanuts and crackerjacks were replacements for the original, mid-1850s snacks of heavily salted licorice and wooden chewin' slabs. Keep your family traditions classic, but not too classic, with today's Groupon: for $15, you get two reserved seats at a Corpus Christi Hooks Minor League Baseball game, a parking pass for one vehicle, and access to a kids' play area at Whataburger Field (up to a $38 value). Choose between the following games:
Under the new management of Tom Lawless, the 2011 Hooks—the Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros—look to proclaim wood-stick dominance in the Texas League. With a pair of tickets in hand (up to a $12 value each) and a car successfully parked in the parking lot (a $4 value) baseball supporters can claim seats at Whataburger Field, which is built to reflect the feel of a classic ballpark and can hold approximately 7,000 Hooks fans and three times as many foam fingers. Two wristbands adorn arms and grant access to extracurricular excursions in the Driscoll Children's Hospital Kids Zone, featuring a 27-foot-high rock-climbing wall, a multifoot trampoline, and a chimp-free jungle gym ($5/each). Along with being able to see the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium from inside the park, fans can enjoy breath-robbing views of the Harbor Bridge and mascots removing their comically oversized hats to observe the national anthem.
