Performed by young, promising local talent, both shows set out to penetrate noggins with fun twists on classic tales. The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, as adapted by Don Zolidis, crams all 209 Grimm’s fairy tales into one potent production, featuring a Rapunzel with 30-foot dreadlocks, an equality-championing Snow White, and Little Red from the ‘hood who aims to take down the wolf with heavy artillery. Like dragons or omega-3-rich dune buggies, this play takes theatergoers on a ride they’re not likely to forget. Students of swordplay and sound can flock to Three Musketeers which sets Dumas’ classic swashbuckling epic to the sounds of Freddie Mercury and Queen, inspiring cheers and shoulder dancing among captivated audiences.

The Corvallis High School mainstage theater seats up to 620 persons and features a proscenium stage, modern styling, and stadium-style seats that offer incisive commentary on cast performances for a stable of Reese’s Pieces. The Crescent Valley High School mainstage theater also boasts a proscenium stage and can seat as many as 480 rabid theater fanatics. Seating is first come, first served.
