What You'll Get
Until mankind first stepped outside in 1934, nature was thought to be a fanciful myth, like yogurt or the clutch hitter. Spend a few hours frolicking through the fresh air of truth with today's Groupon to Country Road Cycles, located on North Ronks Road in Bird-in-Hand. Choose between the following options:
- For $30, you get a four-hour scooter rental (a $60 value).
- For $25, you get a two-hour scooter rental (a $50 value).
Scooter rentals include a helmet and a full tank of fuel good for up to 100 miles. A $150 security deposit is required and will be fully refunded if no damaged is incurred.
Country Road Cycles zips customers through the sweeping Lancaster County countryside with self-guided scooter tours. After instruction from a friendly staff certified in motorcycle safety, guests choose their wheeled companion from 10 late-model, well-maintained 50cc Yamaha scooters, including C3, Vino, and Zuma models. Cruise through Pennsylvania's Amish country, whirring past historic farmhouses, covered bridges, and tailgating cows. Along the journey, roadside stands teem with a cornucopia of fresh fruits and veggies for a drive-thru morsel of local produce, and nearby shops boast handcrafted treasures. The exhilarating two-hour tour speeds through an abridged version of the four-hour tour, and is also roughly the same length of time it takes to perfectly pronounce "rubber baby buggy bumpers."
Country Road Cycles is open from April through October. Travelers can rent a two-wheeled steed in the spring and fall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; Sunday hours are from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Rental hours stay the same throughout the summer, but rentals are available seven days a week.
