Countryside Farms welcomes kids and adults for autumnal activities, including hayrides through the walnut farm and visits to the pumpkin patch, where kids age 9 and under can pick a complimentary future jack-o-lantern to take home. Goats, rabbits, chickens, and quarter horses accept overtures of friendship in the farmyard. From a lookout fort, visitors can spot the “bean pond” and the collection of antique tractors, then climb down and navigate the hay tunnel and maze. Finally, there are a host of educational stations where kids can learn about topics such as planting and how owls benefit farmers by whispering weather forecasts to them as they pass. The farm is open to visitors on Fridays and Saturdays—call for hours.<p>
For four generations, the Cutter family has tilled the land and reaped the harvests of Countryside Farms. The farm opens its gates to strawberry picking in the early summer months, and to cherry picking in June. As the seasons evolve, so do the attractions. When pumpkins reach their peak of ripeness, which is right before they turn into carriages, the farm hosts fall-themed attractions including hayrides and corn mazes. In addition to growing different crops, the farm houses a variety of friendly animals—Quackers the duck, Thanksgiving the turkey, and Dewey the horse, to name a few.
