The basic knowledge and skills acquired during your basic training as a script supervisor on dramatic films, becomes the foundation for learning to work on commercials. A great many of the same principles will apply to scripting both dramatic and commercial projects.

What you will learn:

  • How to script supervise on all types of commercials.
  • The forms, procedures and language of the commercial world.
  • The similarities and differences between features and commercials in terms of paperwork and responsibilities.
  • Script Supervising on commercials that include VFX & multiple cameras.
  • Working with the crew: how to work best with the director, camera department, sound department, VTR department, production and editing.
  • Digital film vs. analog film.
  • Demonstrations of effective programs and approaches to using the computer on and off set.
  • Finding work, making your deal, learning what is union vs. non union work.
  • New technologies and how they impact your job.
Prerequisites:  
Completion of Beginning Script Supervising Part A and/or some previous experience in script supervising.

Please bring Comfortable clothing, laptop, ipad (not required), pens, notebooks
