About CrabHouse

When new owners took over Long Island City's Waterfront Crabhouse, locals weren't sure what would happen to the beloved eatery that had been around since the 1970s. But they needn't have worried. The new owners decided to pay tribute to the restaurant's roots by keeping "crabhouse" in the name, serving up crabs and other seafood, and leaving the classic exposed brick alone.

They did, however, incorporate some modern touches. CrabHouse is now part steakhouse, serving new york strips paired with sides like truffled mashed potatoes. And CrabHouse has a raw bar, too, one filled with East and West Coast oysters, littleneck clams, and colossal crabmeat cocktails. The owners also added chandeliers and greenery overhead.
