In the "Throwing on the Wheel: Beginning to Intermediate" class, are pieces glazed and fired so that students can take home their art? Approximately how many pieces will a student make over the 6 weeks?

Sarah S.  asked on  Aug 16, 2012

Hi Sarah--Yes, glazing & firing is all included, and yes, you'll have art to take home! (Everything you make will even be microwave & dishwasher safe!) The number of pieces created depends on the student, but typically folks make at least 4-6 pieces in a Beginning-Intermediate class. If you already have some wheel experience, you might make more pieces--or more elaborate pieces--than another student with less experience, but everyone will have several finished pieces at the end of 6 weeks. I hope this helps!

Can children take these classes or what is the minimum age?

Valerie E.  asked on  Aug 15, 2012

Hi Valerie! We do offer children's classes throughout the year, generally starting at age 7. There are a few children's classes this Fall, and I encourage you to check our online catalog for the class descriptions. Folks age 16 and older are welcome to register for adult classes, unless otherwise specified. Our Winter class schedule is in the works, and will be published in late November. You can browse the online catalog on our website, We hope to see you in the studios!
