If it weren’t for the archival nature of ceramics, we’d have little insight into the rainy-day activities of ancient Greeks. Make your own lasting, creative mark with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of pottery painting at Create It Ceramics in Palo Alto. Create It Ceramics fosters familial and friendly bonding with a splatter of color and shelves of blank ceramics. With paint-your-own pottery, artists pick out a ceramic piece, sketch or stencil a design on its surface, paint it, hand it back for glazing, and pick it up five to seven days later. Give your favorite pet a creatively stamped mug ($20–$30), small dish ($18–$22), or figurine ($16+), while clay handprints ($25+) are a touching present for any loved one who wants to high-five you when you're not around. The price of each item covers supplies, glazing, and one day of studio time. An extra $5 return visit fee may apply to pieces not finished in one session. All paints and clear glazes are lead-free, non-toxic, environmentally sound, and food-safe for politically exiled rutabagas.
Not valid from December 15, 2010 to January 2, 2011. Please plan accordingly.

About Create It Ceramics
A prismatic array of glaze bottles and sparkling glass pieces form kaleidoscopic patterns for guests to splash across create-your-own pottery and fused-glass masterpieces. Visitors select from stencils, stamps, and samples or select still frames from their dreams to decorate ceramic mugs, figurines, and fused-glass dishes. Staff members set up and clean workspaces, as well as package kits for home pottery-painting parties. This means artists can focus solely on siphoning their imagination into their project. The studio regularly hosts parties and meetings, to which guests are welcome to bring snacks, wine, or milk shakes made of ground-up poems.
