Like making an origami crane out of a phone book, learning the guitar requires deft fingers and weeks of determination. Stay in the fold with today's Groupon: for $55, you get four 30-minute guitar lessons at Creme Tangerine in Costa Mesa (a $120 value).
Extending their musical expertise beyond the vintage camping trailer turned record store known as Creme Tangerine, co-owner Parker Macy and his band of skilled, experienced instructors instill the skills to master the guitar into fledgling shredders. Each of the four 30-minute sessions caters to the needs and styles of individual students, whether they’re already on the path to rock 'n' roll glory or still trying to figure out which strings can double as dental floss on the road. Lessons take place in small groups by appointment only, though Creme Tangerine’s store, located in the LAB, is open from approximately noon to 8 p.m. every Monday–Friday.
