If coffee flowed in rivers, fish would never miss a deadline and thirsty forest fauna would wait years for a freak half-and-half downpour. Enjoy a babbling brook of brewed beans with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of drinks and café fare at Cricket's Café, in Sellersburg.

Cricket's Café features an eclectic dine-in menu, and offers creative catering and convenient box lunches. Early risers with a penchant for produce can consume a veggie omelette, mottled with mixed peppers, onions, tomatoes, cheese, and a choice of white or wheat toast ($4.99). On-the-go gulpers can snag the Superior boxed lunch, a smorgasbord combining a choice of wrap (chicken salad, tuna salad, veggie and cheese, and more), a side salad, a cup of soup, chips, and a dessert ($11.99). Delight in a grilled-chicken ranch wrap ($7.99) or an ultimate baked potato—bolstered by butter, salt, cheese, ham, turkey, and bacon—capable of powering half a dozen science-fair light bulbs ($5.99). Placate parched palates with hot tea (starting at $1.49), coffee (starting at $1.29), or a specialty drink, such as Nelson's Java, a brewed blend of espresso, caramel, chocolate, vanilla, and steamed milk (starting at $2.99).

The efficient eatery boasts indoor and outdoor seating in addition to three meeting rooms. Break bread on-site in one of the exclusive alcoves, equipped with hi-def projectors and PowerPoint capabilities that facilitate slide shows filled with cake-themed pie charts. The café also hosts a drive-thru for the convenience of harried truckers and adults wedged in their children’s battery-powered cars.

  • This is a great place for breakfast or lunch. Excellent coffee, delicious food; nice facility; great service. – A H, iDine

Cricket's Café

Old-World street lamps light a path towards Cricket's Café, a red-brick eatery brimming with Tuscan-inspired decor and the aromas of gourmet café fare. The design for the restaurant started at the owner's table, where she and her husband sketched a layout with indoor and outdoor seating, including three meeting rooms with high-def projectors. Throughout each of these areas, waiters carry plates loaded with breakfast items, sandwiches, and specialty drinks. The café pros can also transport their comestibles to casual office parties or formal debutante balls held in bouncy castles with catering service.
