At the Alligator Sanctuary, visitors can marvel at the world’s smartest gators, including Tom, the alpha male who commands the largest pond and responds to various commands and objects. The Middle School Outdoor Swamp offers an engaging experience where adolescent gators display social behaviors like territorial posturing and bellowing. The Elementary Swamp is the starting point for young gators, where colorful camouflage striping marks their arrival, and feeding sessions are a delightful treat with small gator pellet food available for purchase.
The sanctuary features the impressive Godzilla and Medusa, two of the largest gators, can be seen from an elevated viewing area that provides a stunning bird’s-eye view of these incredible creatures. The Alligator Pre-School and Covered Swamp cater to gators under three years old, offering them the special care they need away from predatory threats. Meanwhile, enjoy watching the Giant African Spur-Thigh Tortoises showcasing their impressive burrowing skills.
