Q:

I purchased the 4 weeks consecutive -- is that 4 weeks from the 1st day I show up within the 90 day period? Meaning I dont have to start on the 1st of the month

Brianne O.  asked on  Jun 19, 2013

A:

The four weeks (or two weeks if you bought that deal) begins the day you participate in the first of four Foundations of CrossFit classes. To get started just send us an email and tell us on which Tuesday evening you want to start!

Q:

In regards to the Foundations classes, how often are they available? I did not see times listed on the schedule. Also, is there a limit as to the number of Foundations that one can complete within a week? Thanks.

Kelly K.  asked on  Jun 17, 2013

A:

As stated here http://crossfitapx.com/groupon-buyers/ our Foundations of CrossFit classes are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:30pm. Completion of all four Foundations classes is required before joining our regular schedule of CrossFit classes. It is important to know that the Foundations classes are physical and fun and conclude with a CrossFit workout!

Unfortunately the Groupon Deal is for 2 or 4 consecutive weeks only.

I can't seem to find a schedule when I go to your website. I see the button to click on for Groupon Buyers, but if you buy on Groupon can you not attend the earlier morning classes?

Q:

Does the 2 week or 1 month of unlimited group classes start after the 4th intro session is complete, or does the clock start ticking as soon as the first intro class starts?

Adam W.  asked on  Jun 17, 2013

A:

The "Foundations of CrossFit" program is very much hands on with the exercises and equipment. You will be practicing the exercises and lifts as you are learning and we conclude each evenings class with a CrossFit workout; so yes the program starts when you begin Foundations.

Q:

I have a 12 year old daughter can I sign her up ? is there a age limitation

Murari  asked on  Jun 16, 2013

A:

Thank you for the question. With twelve year olds we make a judgement call based on a number of factors that our Coaches observe during the mandatory four "Foundations of CrossFit" sessions. If she demonstrates the requisite physical and mental abilities to workout with adults then she is clear to join. The bottom line is safety for all our athletes.. Thank you!

Q:

Hi Andrea, I am 54 years old. The last 3 years I have exercised on and off, nothing consistent. I need to get motivated again. I dropped my lifetime Fitness membership in 2009 after a job change. I am anxious to get started taking care of myself again. I am also a Type 1 diabetic who needs this exercise for my overall health. Do you think beginners can survive this routine? Thanks. Kathy

Kathy c.  asked on  Jun 16, 2013

A:

Hi Kathy, Your question is one that we commonly get because of the reputation CrossFit has for being effective and intense. At CrossFit APx our Coaches are observant to the present fitness level of each member. Every day, workouts are "scaled" or "modified" for those that need it. Over time, as ones fitness and strength levels improve, people notice that they may require little or no modification. That is tangible evidence of improved physical fitness and is truly exciting! At CrossFit APx our membership ranges from high level competitive athletes to a 76 year old grandmother, a woman with MS and a paraplegic. No excuses here. You just need to supply the effort and we'll make sure the workouts are safe, fun and effective!

Q:

Hi! I'm really interested in signing up, but I have a 6 and 9 year old to contend with. :) Can I bring them? Is there a place for them to hang out with their hand held video games? Thanks! Kelly :)

Kelly S.  asked on  Jun 14, 2013

A:

Hi Kelly, Yes kids age 5 and up are welcome to to hang out while mom or dad completes their CrossFit workout. Kids usually take a seat on one of the benches in the gym and watch the workout. We also schedule special CrossFit Kids workout throughout the month.
