About Crossfit Desert Valley
Crossfit Desert Valley's owner, Tim Baldry, says that CrossFit saved his life. At one point weighing 425 pounds, Tim has the exercise program to thank for helping him lose 180 pounds and wrest control of his life from obesity. While every participant might not need his or her life altered to quite the same degree, the transformative power of vigorous exercise and proper diet is without doubt.
In a sense, CrossFit Desert Valley is an avenue for Tim to help others facing similar situations. His team of fellow level-one coaches lead exercisers through functional workouts designed to develop a broad base of fitness. Whereas some coaches might use scare tactics such as holding a flame under a you-shaped ice sculpture, the coaches here foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere to help their pupils attain loftier and loftier goals for fitness. CrossFit's core program, the Workout of the Day, draws from a diverse pool of movements including weightlifting, gymnastics, kettlebell, and cardio exercises, all designed to sculpt physiques and improve health regardless of starting point.
