Q:

Hi, I'm super excited to get started! I have three friends that are currently members and have been encouraging me to sign up! I understand that I need to take the fundamentals sections before I get into level I or II. However, I'm worried about the schedule. Level I classes fit into my hectic life schedule perfectly (T/Th evenings, weekends), but I don't see many options for fundamentals. I'm not wanting to purchase unless I know I can show up, and I would rather not spend 6 months waiting for the fundamentals classes to fit for me. How do I know if any fundamentals classes that may not yet be posted will work with my schedule, or can I use a groupon to go towards private sessions? Thanks!

Great question Jody! So yes, unless you can test out without any instruction, everyone will need to take fundamentals first. Our current plan is to offer 3 consecutive lessons each week, with one cycle in the PM (6:00pm) and one in the AM (6:30am). These are going to be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday almost every week. This will get you through the program in roughly two weeks, and on to Crossfitting at your best. If you can't come in on any Monday, Wednesday or Friday for one to two weeks, then this program might not be for you. You'd be missing out on an awful lot only coming to Crossfit two days a week, and always on the same weekdays. Our current Fundamentals offerings are accurately posted through early February, so you should be able to determine whether or not the schedule will work for your particular circumstances. However, you can always use your Groupon purchase towards other regular services. We do offer Fundamentals in a private or personal training setting, and that is specially priced at $250 for 6 lessons.

Thanks. So, I just want to make sure I understand. Come early February (or earlier?) Fundamentals 1-6 will be available M/W/F 6am and 6pm?

jody s.  from  Self  replied on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

January 7th, they will be offered mornings. After January 14th they will be offered mornings and evenings. This is reflected on the schedule posted online: https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/ASP/adm/home.asp?studioid=7062

Q:

Can you use 6 of the 21 classes towards Fundamentals?

Ian B.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Yes, in fact most users will HAVE to use 6 of their sessions for fundamentals, as the test in to regular classes would be difficult without some instruction.

Q:

Do the Fundamentals classes have to be taken in sequential order (starting with 1 and progressing to 6)?

Allyson h.  asked on  Jan 5, 2013

A:

Allyson, It's ideal that the lessons be taken in order, as the curriculum is progressive, building upon itself from lesson to lesson. We offer the classes at the same time every Monday-Wednesday-Friday going from 1-2-3 one week, and 4-5-6 the next. If you miss one, it's not the end of the world, so long as you do well on the parts you DO attend.

Q:

Hi, is there a specific schedule online for the 30 day body transformation? And how often do cycles repeat? Thank you

laine m.  asked on  Jan 4, 2013

A:

Not exactly. The 30 Body Transformation starts with an intake workshop, followed by 'fundamentals'. These start anew every Monday, and have times offered morning and evening. After 6 fundamentals lessons, the remaining 15 classes will be any group class for which the student is qualified: without prior experience in gymnastics and olympic weightlifting that probably means "Level I Crossfit classes" and "Yoga". At the end of the 30 Day challenge their will be an outgoing workshop as well. The two workshops are currently only being offered on Saturdays. Level I classes are typically offered three times per day, Monday through Saturday.

Q:

What fitness level do you need to be to participate?

Beth M.  asked on  Jan 4, 2013

A:

You need to be free of any medical conditions that would contraindicate intense exercise

Q:

Hi, Is there any difference between the fitness classes offered in the 30-day Body Transformation Challenge package and the CrossFit classes packaged offered ? Also do the 21 classes offered in 30-day Body challenge have to used within 30 days?

Kevin M.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Kevin, the body transformation challenge includes a special one hour workshop at the beginning and the end of the challenge (as well as a log book) but otherwise both deals are for the same group class offerings (the same as our members currently attend). The deal fine print states that the classes must be completed within 60 days of the redemption. So you will 60 days to do your 30, but to the best of our ability we're trying to set it up so that it's an intensive 30 day experience.

Q:

Hi, Does the fine print rule "must be a new client" apply specifically to that particular crossfit location or include any crossfit location? For example, if someone has done crossfit at a place in the DC area at another time can they still take advantage of this deal? Thanks

Devan C.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Devan, New client applies to us. If you've never purchased anything from us, you are good to go with the deal. And I hope you do!
