Housed in a 3,000-square-foot gym, CrossFit Oyster Point facilitates fitness with an intensive, total-body exercise style, attentive trainers, and ample space for each exerciser to perform safely. CrossFit boot camp folds in the sport’s core methodologies while staying true to the high-energy style of traditional boot camps. Like a dance-a-thon held in an active volcano, coaches run participants through ever-changing routines that torch calories with nonstop movement during the course of one hour. Pulling from body-weight-resistance exercises, cardio moves such as running and jumping, and barbell training, trainers test clients of all fitness levels. Members and visitors alike can benefit from the camp’s inclusive atmosphere and goal of ameliorating overall health. CrossFit boot-camp classes are usually less than 40 minutes long, and are scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:30 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Saturdays at 9 a.m.

An unlimited monthly membership grants entry to all of the gym’s regularly scheduled classes, with Essentials sessions for first-time CrossFitters and group classes for veteran gym clients. The gym’s philosophy hones in on practical movements that increase functionality in every day life, eschewing extraneous bells and whistles like bicep curls and bus-stop-bench presses. Group classes are scheduled throughout the day every weekday and at 9 a.m. on Saturdays; beginners-only Essentials classes take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

CrossFit Oyster Point

Each workout at CrossFit Oyster Point was created for one specific reason: to better equip bodies for everyday movements. In any given workout, members may perform squats, which build the muscles used to lift heavy objects at home or work, or jump onto plyometric boxes, which strengthen the stabilizers used for jumping into your monster truck to run errands. Certified CrossFit coaches oversee every exercise to ensure safe, correct form is practiced. During warmer months, members swing kettlebells or push weighted sleds outside.
