Though they teach the same workout style, coaches Ryan Boylen and Ben Tobler bring different backgrounds to CrossFit Rogers. Boylen specializes in martial arts: he's studied more than 20 styles in his lifetime, and the explosive, powerful movements mesh well with the exercises he teaches at the gym. Tobler, for his part, has experience in gymnastics and a thorough knowledge of how CrossFit is different from simply pumping iron. Together, the coaches teach functional movement exercises that prepare students for the next time they find themselves playing a sport or pushing a boulder up a hill for all eternity.
