I'm only 2 classes in but I already love it! The coaches are really nice, accommodating to different fitness levels, and very knowledgeable. The members are extremely welcoming and I don't feel judged at all for not having much experience. I'm looking forward to finishing this package and potentially becoming a member as well!

They were helpful and nice to a group of us who checked them out for the first time. Maybe stressing the high level of athletic intensity (even for those who are active and regularly exercise) might be helpful if there's going to be another Groupon, since one of our members (who has a 16 mile bike commute) stopped after the first visit as it was too intense.

About CrossFit StumpTown

Both of CrossFit StumpTown's head trainers—owner Tony Edgerton and coach Joon Howard—played college basketball, so it's fair to say that they know competitive athletics inside and out. This gives them a leg up in terms of teaching CrossFit, a fitness program that pushes participants to explore and surpass their limits. CrossFit is specifically designed to boost strength, quickness, and endurance; together, this trio constitutes power, an asset in sports ranging from basketball to basket weaving.

However, CrossFit is more than sports training. It also prepares participants for everyday challenges, like picking up a kid or helping a friend move without pulling a muscle. Perhaps best of all, it changes daily to prevent workout ennui—hence the ubiquitous CrossFit acronym W.O.D., which means "Workout of the Day." Some days, the emphasis is on pullups and squats; other days, it's on kettlebell swings and lunges.
