What You'll Get
Famed Spanish explorer Ponce de León was forced to forgo his quest for the mythical land of wine after an accidental tumble into the Fountain of Youth left him eternally underage. Take up his abandoned journey with today’s Groupon to Crown Valley Winery or its sister venue Crown Valley Brewing & Distilling Company in Sainte Genevieve. Choose between two options:
- For $15, you get $30 worth of wine and grill fare at Crown Valley Winery.
- For $15, you get $30 worth of beer and deli fare at Crown Valley Brewing & Distilling Company.
Located just a mile apart, Crown Valley Winery and its sister venue Crown Valley Brewing & Distilling Company refresh palates with an array of handcrafted wines, microbrewed beers, and savory grill and deli fare. Winery patrons can stock their mouth cellars with the rich, fruity layers and lingering finish of the 2007 frontenac ($14) or let the earthy notes of a Fine Old Vintage Museum Collection port ($30) accompany an aged cheese to its senior palate prom. Then, visitors can head to the Vintage Grill to fill grape-sated stomachs with a full menu of deli fare such as a barbecue pulled-pork sandwich ($7) or a roast-beef panini smothered in pepper jack cheese ($6; not available Saturdays) as they admire acres of sprawling vineyards and verdant countryside.
Alternatively, visitors to the brewing company can sample the foamy flavors of more than 15 microbrewed beers, ciders, ales, and lagers crafted on-site. The Wooden Nickel IPA blends three types of hops into a honey-hued tapestry of citrus and floral flavors ($3/bottle), and a 16-ounce draft of Barrel Select Big Bison ale ($5) splashes off the palate with a buttery sensation picked up from two months inside red-wine oak casks. During a standard tasting ($7), beer gurus ply patrons with eight 3-ounce sample brews, then lead them on a tour of the brewery's sophisticated fermentation equipment and Olympic-size lap pools filled with stout. Finally, head to the dark alderwood bar to pair a draw with foam-friendly deli comestibles from the food menu, such as 8-inch supreme pizza ($8) or crunchy nachos ($4).
