Art and food, like most married couples, have begun to look so much alike that it's nearly impossible for kids to paint family portraits that don't resemble homologous plates of mashed potatoes. Show your appreciation for tasty pairings with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of Cuban-inspired cuisine and drinks in an artsy setting at Cucuru Art Gallery and Café, located in the heart of historic Old Colorado City.
Cucuru started strictly as a gallery for local artists, but eventually added the café to its resume with bullet points of fresh sandwiches, small plates, barista beverages, beer, wine, live music, and dancing. The café specializes in daytime delicacies, serving up a colorful pallet of breakfast and lunch options (served until 4 p.m.) such as breakfast burritos with sausage, ham, or veggies ($5.50) and a chipotle turkey wrap ($7.25). Post-midday munchies include a wide variety of tapas (served after 4 p.m.); shrimp diablo with avocado ($9) and Portuguese sausage with goat cheese ($7.50) both come served on crustinis. If you seek something succulent that isn't served atop a toasted grain saucer, just in case aliens have adopted "looking appetizing" as their invasion method, tango instead with the grilled veggie plate ($5) topped by calabasita, squash's smaller Latin cousin. During farmers'-market season, Cucuru concocts its culinary treats using locally grown produce. In addition to a vibrant canvas-covered interior, Cucuru also has an outdoor courtyard where guests can sip cups of gourmet coffee ($1.50–$2 per cup) or a glass of house wine ($5.50 per glass) while discussing pop culture and the meaning of life. On Wednesday evenings, the courtyard doubles as a tasty grilling station, while on the weekends it invites patrons to grab a seat and have their ears tickled by live musical stylings.

About Cucuru Art Gallery and Café
Paintings and other works by local artists festoon Cucuru Gallery Cafe, whose walls are painted with the rustic reds and deep greens of the Spanish countryside. Glasses of Spanish wines and specialty cocktails clink within the single-story house-turned-café, such as the Barista blended with espresso and brûlée liqueurs. Cucuru's drinks pair with tapas and other Hispanic-inspired dishes, such as cuban sandwiches with marinated, slow-roasted pork, crispy spiced patatas bravas with garlic-aioli dipping sauce, and pollo oloroso, which tops a seared chicken breast, manchego cheese, and mashed potatoes with an oloroso-mushroom demi-glace. The café hosts live entertainment throughout the week, such as jazz, funk, and other genres, and opens on Tuesdays for sultry tango classes.
