Like a box of fine china or a man covered in ants, cocktails just beg to be shaken. Stir up the nightlife with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of drinks and grill fare at Cue Bar in Bayside.
Cue Bar mixes a cocktail-heavy drink menu with house-cooked grill fare in a casual, contemporary lounge peppered with 21 professional billiard tables. A blackened-chicken caesar wrap graces plates with tortilla-shrouded spice ($8.95), and five burger varieties—including the cheddar cheese-stuffed Cue burger ($11.95)—inhabit precious stomach real estate. The ultra-thin-crust pizza ($9.95) defies hunger and conventional standards of pizza geology with stratas of bacon, beef, olives, and more ($0.50 each). Enliven a meal or catatonic friend with bottled brews such as Bud Light, Corona, or Sierra Nevada ($4.50–$5.50), or a frosty on-tap Blue Moon or Guinness ($5–$6). Cue Bar’s dozens of cocktails and frozen drinks run the gamut of liquor leanings, from the warming irish-cream espresso with bailey’s and vodka to the cool sea breeze wafting off coconut mojitos and mango coladas ($9.50).
In addition to the lounge’s ample comestibles, a live DJ regales tipplers with danceable tunes, party soundtracks, and pretaped lectures on Herodotus every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. Cue Bar's sleek, brushed metal and deep-red tones blend softly with comfy black-leather seats. Twenty-one pool tables and two ping-pong tables entertain pool sharks and pong squids alike, as do daily specials (with the exception of happy hour) such as $3 cosmopolitans on Sundays and Mondays, $3 apple martinis on Wednesdays, and free cocktail swords on Alexandre Dumas’s birthday.
