Creating a meal from scratch is both challenging and delicious, much like playing “Stairway to Heaven” on a clarinet made out of a candy cane. Master meal melding with today’s Groupon to Cuisines by Isaac in Grand Ledge. Choose between the following options:

  • For $29, you get a couples Valentine’s Day cooking class (a $65 value). Classes are available February 11 and 12, though specific times will be determined upon booking.
  • For $44, you get a pasta-making class and bottle of wine for two (an $88 value). Class times will be provided upon booking.<p>

Chef Isaac introduces foodies to a palate-pleasing style of cooking he learned under the tutelage of his father, a student of legendary recipe maker Julia Child. During the couples Valentine’s Day cooking class, duos learn how to whip up an aromatic feast of sweet-potato hash and apple flambé. Chef Isaac guides lovebirds as they tuck bacon, chicken, sausage, veggies, and edible teddy bears into a cradle of mashed sweet potatoes. A red-wine sauce blended with sun-dried-tomato pesto, dijon mustard, and smoked jalapeños drizzles over the entree, fusing together sweet and savory flavors. An apple flambé sizzles and spits like a surly tea kettle to herald the conclusion of the gastronomic tutorial.

Alternatively, the two-hour pasta-making class, teaches a minimum of six participants to construct noodles from scratch, then douse the doughy nest with a freshly created alfredo sauce. Throughout the lesson, attendees sip from an included bottle of wine, which helps to cultivate an atmosphere as romantic as a honeymoon on an asteroid.

Cuisines by Isaac

Chef Isaac introduces foodies to a palate-pleasing style of cooking he learned under the tutelage of his father, a student of legendary recipe maker Julia Child. While lingering in the aromas and sung notes that filled his childhood kitchen, he soaked up the skills that would lead him to create a menu that was praised by Dine Michigan. Roasted chicken tempts tongues alongside barbecue ribs, sliced pork tenderloin in a white-wine sauce, and handmade meatballs with vegetable-infused tomato sauce. One who vows to leave stomachs satisfied, Chef Isaac pairs his entrees with gourmet takes on mac 'n' cheese or warm spinach salad and ends meals with a sweet note, such as the apple flambé, which sizzles and spits like a surly tea kettle.

After experiencing a particularly long wait at a restaurant one evening, Chef Isaac decided to expand his culinary reach into the homes and minds of his clientele with a slew of delicious services. Cooking classes divulge his techniques with comfort foods and healthy cooking or guide students through the creation of specific dishes such as stuffed pasta with meatballs. Chef Isaac also brings his skills and signature menu into patrons' homes, thereby freeing up more time for them to spend with their families or search for patterns in taped episodes of Press Your Luck.

It was a very nice experience, we took a class and my husband and I helped him prepare the dish he was to serve the class, I really enjoyed that. Thanks Issac and keep up the good work.
