Shaggy hair can box guys into a corner in the job market and tickle the face off a significant other. Today's Groupon saves another's face skin and makes males look job-ready: for $9, you get a special Frank Sinatra Package, which includes a men's haircut, choice of beverage, and a commemorative glass (a $24 value) at Cutters & Co., a men's-only barbershop located in the Chase Park Plaza Hotel.
Lose a little off the top for more aerodynamic holiday merrymaking at Cutters & Co., where men can stop by after work, on their lunch break, or while working on work in the comforts of the barbershop's stress-busting massage chairs. Plentiful cold refreshments are available for gentlemanly tippling, including bottled water, bubbly soda, and haircut-enhancing beer. Patrons can raise a commemorative glass to celebrate Ol' Blue Eyes’ birthday (which happens to be today) in the same place where he used to get his hair properly coiffed when stopping through St. Louis. Barbershop guests don't have to join a quartet, but they may find themselves singing songs of glee throughout the thorough shampooing and scalp massage, performed by the deft hands of an experienced staff member. A haircut is, of course, part and parcel of today's deal as well, freeing lengthy locks from their cranial prison.
Tucked inside the basement of the historic Chase Park Plaza Hotel, Cutters & Co. occupies a space that another famous barbershop once called home: a shop that even cleaned up the notorious Rat Pack when they stopped in for a break from sailing the seven seas. The barbershop is classic through and through, with a conversational atmosphere, a friendly lineup of barbers, and cold, masculine beer in the fridge.
Clients of Cutters & Co. are too wrapped up in showing off their new hairdos to write many reviews of their experiences. Eight Yelpers give it an average of 3.5 stars:
Cutters & Co.
The Rat Pack members were known for their smooth tunes, charming personalities, and classic style. When they visited St. Louis, the quintet kept themselves looking sharp with trips to a barbershop tucked inside the basement of the historic Chase Park Plaza. Though the original barbershop is long gone, Cutters & Co. picked up the slack, and today its staff carries on the tradition at the original barbershop's location. Cutters opened in true Rat Pack style on Frank Sinatra's 90th birthday, providing the community with artful male grooming, including expert haircuts that come with a scalp massage, a shampoo, and a Sammy Davis, Jr.–mustache application. The shop's signature service encompasses a haircut, a hot-towel facial, and a chair massage. Guests are even encouraged to kick back with a complimentary beer from Cutters' fully stocked cooler of seasonal brews. Past brands have included Corona for Cinco de Mayo, Schlafly summer lager to kick off summer 2012, and Budweiser as a tribute to the Rat Pack's favorite drink.
