Q:

Whats the bike rental itself, ie low to high end style model etc? What do you consider to be beginner to intermediate. I ride on the weekends technical single track all over PA and grew up riding in Vancouver BC, 20 years riding exp. My brother in-law is a triathlete with some mtn biking exp, so basically better cardio, is this going to be worth it or is beginner just wrong and should we be looking at something else? Thanks Scott C

A:

Hi Scott, The bikes that come with this package are mid-range hard tail bikes. Since we book these groupon packages as groups when scheduling, you may have 4 others that are complete beginners with no experience. You may want to look into a private tour which we also offer. We have high end full suspension/29ers/hardtails for our other tours. The tour itself is along a very beginner friendly trail that varies from 4-12 miles, depending on the strength of the group. Thanks for looking, Scott

Q:

If we bring our own bike+helmet, will it still cost 99$?

Timothy L.  asked on  Nov 5, 2012

A:

Yes, the price will be $99 even with your own equipment. You can feel free to bring your own equipment, but it must be bike shop quality bikes and helmets. The helmets must be snell certified and bikes cannot be department store bikes (ie: Next, Huffy, Mongoose or schwinn). We lead primarily private tours with customers bringing their own equipment often, but those that don't have bikes/helmets, we have rental agreements with local bike shops.

Q:

Is this something my 11 year old son could do?

Wendy  asked on  Nov 3, 2012

A:

Yes. 11 is the youngest that we do tours for. It is an off road mountain bike tour so it would be helpful if he has some mountain biking experience. We have done tours with 11 year olds in the past, and one of our guides is a school teacher who coached the school mountain bike club, so he is familiar with the ability level of this age group.
