What You'll Get
Stock-car racing is scientifically proven to be an extremely cool reason to drive in circles, trumped only by being in a Soviet spy chase in an ice rink or driving a motorcycle with Burt Reynolds in a sidecar. Encourage the world to eat your splendid dust with today's Groupon: for $115, you get a four-lap ride-along racing experience from Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure at the Talladega Superspeedway (a $195 value). Riders must be between 5 and 7 feet tall and weigh between 100 and 350 pounds.
Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure offers racing fans and speed demons the opportunity to experience the exhilaration of riding around in a stock car around the Talladega Superspeedway—considered the fastest track in the world—at speeds of up to 165 mph. With this deal, visiting copilots are outfitted with a full fire-retardant racing suit, full-face helmet, head-and-neck support device, and car horn that honks the Australian National Anthem before being taken on a qualifying four-lap run with a professional driving instructor.
Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure owns a variety of official Sprint/Nationwide series cars purchased from Mark Martin, Bobby Labonte, and other NASCAR mainstays, providing an appropriately sized vehicle to acceleration enthusiasts of any stature. Though the racing school will try to pair riders with their desired cars, it is not guaranteed, as safety is a higher priority. The Talladega Superspeedway features enhanced barriers and retaining walls to protect the well-being of drivers along this 2.66-mile-long ring of rapidity, and the adjacent International Motorsports Hall of Fame is open to the public daily.
