Dallas City Tour

The guides at Dallas City Tours are proud to share stories about their city's beloved museums, churches, and gardens. But they also don't shy away from one of the darkest chapter's in Dallas history: the John F. Kennedy assassination. Above all, their tours introduce patrons to the city's past and present, through expeditions that unfold on foot, on a tour bus, or even in a limo. Below, three highlights of their tours.

1. You see history come to life.

JFK was assassinated more than 50 years ago, but Dallas City Tours' guides make that fateful day feel anything but musty by providing experiential details. In the company's limo tour, guests glide along the same route as JFK's last motorcade. They can also visit Lee Harvey Oswald's rooming house, and the Texas Theater, the site of his arrest.

2. There's no need to miss a Dallas landmark.

City tours show between 60 and 80 local landmarks, from Guadalupe Church to Victory Park to the JFK memorial. This last site—a square, roofless room—is what the designer calls an "open tomb," a pure white reminder that Kennedy's spirit flies free.

3. You can get around with clean energy.

Visitors can tour the city on golf-cart-like electric Cruizers. Another eco-friendly option? Hitting the streets on a battery-powered bike, a convenient alternative to riding a horse that's riding two unicycles.

The tour guide, Rachel, was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about the sites and history of events. We really enjoyed the experience and was appreciative of the ticket booth assistant who took very good care of our situation. We would recommend the bus tour to my friends.
