Maurice Ravel's Ma mère I'oye retells the tall tales of Mother Goose through a beautifully orchestrated ballet. Also on the bill is conductor Jaap van Zweden leading brother pianists Arthur and Lucas Jussen as they duel it out over Mozart's action-packed Concerto No. 10 for Two Pianos with an energy unseen since Donald and Daffy duked it out in 1988. Get this Groupon as an effortless alternative to forced, awkward conversation with out-of-town relatives. The familiar, pleasant melodies of widely loved classics instantly soothe as you sink into the comfortable seats of the Meyerson Symphony Center.

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra's programming is regularly reviewed by the Dallas Morning News and other publications such as the New York Times:

  • The work lived up to its outsize ambitions, and Mr. van Zweden led a beautifully prepared and dynamic performance. – James R. Oestreich, New York Times
  • …one could only marvel at a conductor as committed to the fine points of musical shape, balance and joinery as to emotional intensities. Again and again, without making a fuss, van Zweden brought out salient counterpoints usually buried in sonic masses. – Scott Cantrell, Dallas Morning News
